Alternatively, this post should also be titled “How to feel like a Boss Lady.”
I’m excited to be a part of the Show Your Stoff Blog Tour this week! Melissa from Mahlica Designs is hosting some awesome ladies featuring their sewing skills and Zierstoff Patterns! Zierstoff Patterns is a German company and many of their patterns have been translated to English. I was excited to join the tour and try out a new designer and pattern.
As I was browsing Zierstoff’s website I kept going back to the Henrike Jumpsuit. I’ve been wanting to add a jumpsuit into my wardrobe for quite some time, and I figured there was no time like the present! I was a little slow moving (chicken), but I am so glad I challenged myself to make this pattern. This project is possibly my favorite make of 2017 so far.
I chose a super soft printed jersey from my stash that I purchased in a FabricMart pre-cut sale, so this fab jumpsuit cost less than $5. Definitely make sure that you choose a thicker, opaque fabric for this project–you wouldn’t want to have a wardrobe malfunction!
The Henrike came together perfectly. When choosing my size I went with a L top and L/XL bottom. As the pattern instructions state, you can mash sizes to give yourself a custom fit thanks to encased elastic on the top and bottom of the waistband!
For work and the tour, I paired my Henrike with a black RTW blazer that I’ve had for years. It made me feel so put together, chic, AND comfortable! The best feeling ever.
I also laced up my favorite spring/summer wedges and layered a tank top underneath, as the v-neck was a tad low for me. I think that I would try and raise it about an inch in my next version. Yes, I say next because I need one or two more of these! Definitely at least one.
Additionally, I’m playing around with the idea of adding pockets to my next version. I have so many me-made-makes that feature pockets, and I find myself trying to put my hands in my Henrike (out of habit!).
Be sure to head over to the Zierstoff Patterns website to browse their great selection, and use Melissa’s code for 30% off your purchase! Do you have a favorite pattern your eyeing up?
