It’s FriYAY and I am so excited to be write this post, my second as part of the Sew Americana Blog Tour. Last year I joined the tour and whipped up a raglan/drool bib combo for me and Grayson. This year I’m excited to share my latest pattern test that also coincides with the tour: the Love Notions Allegro Pants!

I’ve tested for Tami of Love Notions before, and I’ve always been amazed at how her patterns, even in testing, seem to just come together so perfectly. The Allergro Pants did not disappoint!

This pattern has so many options–and if you are familiar with Love Notions patterns you shouldn’t be surprised! I made the cropped pants length, but there are also options for 5-inch inseam shorts, 9-inch inseam shorts, and a skirt (with TWO lengths).

The fabric I used for testing (version 2 of the pattern draft, so it may not look exactly as the final version) is a bright red and blue poly/lycra peachskin that I purchased from Fabric Mart. Perfect for sewing with red, white and blue! It has a hint of stretch that makes these the comfiest pants that I own!

As far as fit, these look a little slim because I’m in between a L/XL and I ended up sizing down. I’m planning a second version with a black poplin fabric with no stretch, so I’ll probably size up.

For the Sew Americana tour I tried to think of something that screams “Americana” to me that I could pair with these loud, but still kind of patriotic pants. My trusty jean jacket was the answer along with a white Lark tee that I made ages ago. The whole outfit is perfect for heading to a cookout and staying comfy!

Be sure to check out ALL of the great ladies on this tour below–I have been blown away by them all week! It’s inspired me to plan for next year and maybe get my whole family in Americana outfits! And if you’ve been doing some sewing for the season be sure to link up with us!

Last but not least,  Love Notions has offered up a free pattern (the Allegro or another pattern you’ve been eyeing!) to a lucky Very Blissful reader! Enter simply by following Very Blissful and Love Notions on Instagram and letting us know in the Rafflecopter below.

P.S. If you entered my spring cleaning giveaway and I contacted you about the pattern you won, I promise that I did not forget about you! I’m putting them in the mail after the 4th. 🙂

  1. Very cute outfit! Great choice on the fabric for those pants. I love how they turned out, and they are definitely multi-use past the holiday.

    1. Thanks Stacy! I also love the versatility. I actually paired them with a blazer for work last week and they worked great with that, too!

  2. Those pants are SO MUCH FUN! And I think the denim pairing is perfection. I’ve never in my life owned a denim jacket but I’ve always wanted one. Maybe this is the year?? Haha.

    1. Would you believe me if I told you that jacket is from the Gap circa 1999ish? You can’t go wrong with a good jean jacket!!

    1. Thanks Martha! And thanks for the heads up–I think I got it working! Let me know if it isn’t. Thanks for reading!
