I hope you haven’t had enough plaid from me yet–because I have another garment featuring, you guessed it, my favorite fabric pattern of the season! Today I’m sharing my stop on the Love Notions Sloane Blog Tour. I’m honored to be a part of this tour–there are so many talented ladies who are blogging about this great sewing pattern!
I posted about my test version of the updated Sloane pattern, and I hopped on the tour soon after testing because I knew I wanted to make another! This time around I opted to go sans hood/pockets and go for a festive Christmas sweater with a curved hem.
I used a really pretty, sparkly sweater knit from my stash, and I added the option elbow patches in the same flannel plaid I had leftover from my last plaid project. Together they make the perfect Christmastime Sloane sweater!
When I was getting ready to take these pictures I discovered a styling tip that I’ve never thought of before. To get a “faux” tucked-in look, I took the front of my Sloane sweater and tucked it under/into the front of the cami I was wearing underneath it. I adjusted it a little bit and it looks like it’s tucked into my jeans…BUT it’s not! Am I the last person on earth to try this? It’s a great way to get the tucked-in vibe I’ve been loving without being frumpy!
For this project I graded from a L at the arms and bust into an XL at the hips. I don’t think I needed to do that, as it is pretty flowy, but I do love the way this turned out. It will be great for all the Christmas festivities I have coming up next month!
Don’t forget to check out the other lovely ladies on the tour! They all did such an amazing job so far, and I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s stops have in store!
