I’ve had this post in my drafts since the end of November, but December somehow snuck up on me and I am four days late in getting it live. I got knocked out by some 24-hour virus my son gave me at the end of last week, so this post was doomed from the beginning. But, better late than never!
I was so excited to get this month’s theme, Celebrate the Holidays, because Christmastime is one of my favorite seasons of the year. The weather, the food, the lights–everything about it makes me so happy! To help me prep to celebrate the holidays, I’ve created a Christmas board on Pinterest with my favorite inspiration. You can follow it below!
Holiday times bring on stressful times, as I work on the many, many projects in my queue. From gifts to holiday outfits, my to-do list is long and the days seem to be shorter and shorter as December 25. approaches. I do always get it done. Here’s what I’ve been up to so far!
I’ve added a lot of red to my wardrobe over the last month, and it’s definitely been my color this season.
On the blog today: my Julianne Top (new pattern by @dibyclub!) and my top three tips for working with plaids. Now I’m off to a work event followed by date night! What’s on weekend to-do list? . . . . . . . . #millennialsewing #makingnow #thejulianne #sewingwithplaids #sewingblogger #handmadewardrobe #veryblissfulwardrobe #patterntesting
The #leschiblouse is here and it is one of my favorite patterns to date! I love the unique details of this top. I used an old Christmas tablecloth and rolled the sleeves for my final (I tested the pattern). This is a top contender for our upcoming family photos! Congrats on an another amazing pattern @straightstitchdesigns ❤️ . . . . . . . . . #sewingaddict #sewingblogger #christmassewing #upcycledfabric #makersgonnamake #makerspace #millennialsewing #pdfpattern #patterntester #veryblissfulwardrobe
I’m sharing a #freecrochetpattern over on the blog today for the @lovenotions Handmade Holiday Tour! This is a quick pattern that looks like knit ribbing. What’s on your Handmade Holiday project list? Also pictured: my #lovenotionsoakley vest that I’ll go into more detail about soon. Here’s to winter sewing! #linkinprofile
I’ve also been working on some fur poms, a few holiday skirts and a Star Wars shirt that I was supposed to wear to last Friday’s premier. Remember that virus? It took me out. Hopefully the week after Christmas will bring me some of that goodness–no spoilers!
My current to-do list is getting long! I’m hoping to get the following done by this time next week: -A t-shirt quilt commissioned by a friend from work (at the top of my list to get done well before Christmas!) -Two holiday skirts in a crushed red velvet and plaid (both from @joann_stores). We have Christmas festivities galore coming up and I have nothing to wear (or so I say)! -Fur poms for handmade hats on hats! They are a MESS to work with but so fun! -A custom @starwars shirt for the premiere next week! I bought a 2xl mens shirt at @michaelsstores and plan to use a raglan pattern. Not pictured: the too-many-to-count other projects on my table, including a yarn swift bag requested by my mom! Do you have a long handmade project list for the holidays?
I’ve also been arms deep in holiday knitting, and I have one or two last minute projects up my sleeves. What have you been working on to prep for the holidays?
Don’t forget to check out the other lovely ladies on this tour!
