Perfect for fall! Just kidding, I didn’t make it for fall. Still it IS the perfect fall orange, no?
This specific make has been on my to-sew list for awhile because I work for my alma mater, and our colors are orange and black. I had an event that I had to speak at today, but I didn’t want to look too much like a pumpkin. However, you have to do what you have to do in the name of alma mater love!
The pattern? The Out and About Dress by Sew Caroline! This pattern is a go-to for me (I blogged about my first one here). It is the perfect staple dress that can be fancy or casual in a hot minute. Can you ask for more?
As you can see, I tweaked the pattern by making the neckline of the boatneck variety, and I shorted up the waist just a smidge. Is it perfect? No, but I can’t complain. I got a lot of compliments today, and it makes me feel fabulous. PLUS I can wear it to other events. As in probably all the upcoming events I have. 😉
Do you have a go-to pattern that you could make over and over again? //Victoria
P.S. I’m thinking of painting that mustard in our sunroom (where I took these pictures) white. Thoughts? The current color was here when we moved in, but it isn’t my fave.
